Nothing quite like taking a three month hiatus.
Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good
Oh Gretchen Rubin, so wise you are. Not that my writing would ever be “perfect”, but I kept seeing it as “pretty horrible” and the idea that I was putting out horrible blogs kept me from posting. Uhm. Lets be real – I have like 10 unique readers (family included) so it’s not like I’m upsetting the balance of the universe! Hahaha.
Nothing like pressure and a due date to kick start the process! In this case, the Pi Day Instructables challenge: come up with a super spiffy pi day pie recipe.
Of course, after I completed my Nutella Pi Day S’mores recipe and hit “publish” I realized that it had to be a PIE recipe. Ack!
Luckily, Pi day seriously inspired me. I was actually hit with a bout of insomnia and was up until 5am baking random stuff. The s’mores, a mock apple pie with a Pi crust, Gorilla mini breads and (what I ended up submitting) mini pumpkin pi pies.
If you’re not an Instructables member, sign up! They have an endless supply of tutorials and hacks for the kitchen, home, tech-related stuff and even sewing/jewelry type DIYs.
If you are – vote for my mini pumpkin pi-es here!
You should also take a look at all the entries here: http://www.instructables.com/contest/piday2012/ They have some pretty creative recipes!
Happy (belated) Pi Day!
