So, it’s December. Better late than never?! Hehe. Three months later, I’m finally putting out the Hits and Misses post that I was so excited to start doing! Hahaha. This being the first run, let me know what you guys think! If I’m writing too much, or too little, etc. September’s hits (in no particular order):
What they offer: Yummyyyy baked goods and coffe/espresso drinks in Hell’s Kitchen
First Impression: Long line, but it moves quickly (especially since you’re trying to figure out what to order)
I tried: See blog post. Lots of stuff!
Coming back: for the scones. *drool* Contact:
Multiple locations, see Website
What they offer: Soups, sandwiches and tossed-to-order salads.
First impression: Ironically, I haven’t loved any of the soups, but I could probably eat the hummus wrap everyday for lunch.
I tried: 10 veggie soup, tomato basil and rice soup and hummus wrap
Coming back: for the hummus wrap and mayyyybe the salads (since the coworkers always get salad from this place)

Holey Cream (Will link blog post when it’s up)
What they offer: Doughnuts, ice cream, sorbet, toppings and epic frosted doughnut ice cream sammies!
First impression: I must be dreaming. Doughnuts and ice cream?! Together!!? My two favorites. In one happy place.
I tried: Something like 8 of their ice creams. And the doughnut sammie. Twice.
Coming back: Uhm. Already went back.
Their midnight cookies and cream (cookeis and cream in chocolate instead of vanilla) has officially swept me off my feet.

Momofuku Milk Bar (will link blog post when it’s up)
What they offer: Soft serve, smoothies, cookies, pie and cake.
First impression: I WANT TO TRY IT ALL. (Hehe. We almost did)
I tried: All the cookies, crack pie, cereal milk soft serve.
Coming back: For the cornflake (choco chips, cornflakes, marshmallows!) cookies and the crack pie. And to try the other two pies. Since we already tried ALL the cookies. Hahaha.

Go! Go! Curry!
What they offer: Japanese style curry and toppings
First impression: Fobby decor, cheap, and fast service.
I tried: Plain curry with egg and cheese.
Coming back: when we’re craving japanese curry and I don’t want to cook! Hehe.

Crumbs
What they offer: MONSTER cupcakes and brownies…as well as teeny tiny ones like the little guy pictured above.
First impression: They list the calories on the label for each cupcakes. That makes me SO sad. I’d rather not know! Hahaha.
I tried: The blackout cupcake, cookies and cream cupcake and oreo brownie (More than one occasion, I promise!)
Coming back: For the mini cupcake set. All of the flavors, one box. And they’re not the size of your hand. Hehe.

Toasties
What they offer: Sandwiches, soups, pasta, salad and any other deli-type stuff.
First impression: ANOTHER deli?! I tried: Spinach Rolly, egg on a roll, french toast, and the omelette platter.
Coming back: The egg on a roll thing is brilliant. Like $2, delivered. Perfect for lazy mornings. The spinach rolly (swiss, avocado, sauteed mushrooms, sundried tomatoes) is my fave veggie sandwich out of all the cookie cutter type deli’s I’ve tried so far.

Menchanko-Tei
What they offer: Ramen and other Japanese food
First impression: Those cooks are not Japanese!
I tried: Chige Miso Menchanko. Spicy and miso-ey.
Coming back: I have to try a few other ramen places before I go back here. It was good, but it’s out of our way.

Misses:
Dishes
What they offer: Deli food.
First impression: SO unorganized. You order at one place, walk around the counter to another to pay, then wait in confusion at a random place for your food.
I tried: The portabello mushroom sandwich. It was so-so. Not bad, but not great. Tried their salad to give them another chance.
Coming back: Nope. Not worth the crappy service and high prices. $9.25 for a garden salad!? There’s no meat! Haha.
Contact: Multiple locations, see Website.
Pampano
What they offer: Mexican and seafood
First Impression: Island-feel decor, friendly but slow staff.
Coming back: Probably not. The food was mediocre (the drinks were pretty good, though! Haha) and on the pricey side. If you do try this place, Yelp offers a free app when you check in!

Masato’s Sushi
What they offer: Japanese food
First impression: No line at Grand Central!? That’s probably not a good sign.
I tried: Vegetable udon. I was freezing, and that as the only noodle place!
Coming back: No. Their sushi looks unappetizing, there’s never a line and the udon had practically no taste.
