More often than not, the lazy bug rules the weekend mornings.

“5 more minutes” becomes 2 more hours, and when I blink it’s after 2pm.   I crawl out of bed only to see that pesky to-do list, wagging it’s finger at me.

But this weekend was different!

It was still morning and we were out the door, lappies packed, and heading toward downtown to find a place to get some work done. We decided on Manifest, and got to work, coffee in hand.

At around 12pm, my stomach started complaining…
Ten minutes later, I started complaining! hehe.

I started looking around for a place that a was open, which, on the weekend, isn’t much once you venture past Smith street.

That’s when I noticed the open sign at Maria Bonitas, a Mexican joint on Hotel street.

We walked into the slightly warm (there’s no a/c) restaurant.
I loved the decor. Red, white and green painted walls with religious decor and those colorful striped mats. So colorful and bright in comparison to the streets outside.

We decided on a veggie wet burrito (the veggie option subbed onions, tomatoes, red and green bell pepper and zuchinni out for the traditional meaty filling)

We took our seat and they brought us a dish of homemade chips and salsa. Yum!

Then the burrito, with beans, rice and cheeeeeeeeese. OH. and covered in enchilada sauce and MORE cheese! :D

It was huge. We cut it in half, and I could only finish half of my half.

Ry, of course, was still hungry, so he ordered a bean and cheese burrito.

Overall, the food was great! My only complaint is that it was a bit pricey. $11 for the burrito plate and a little over $5 for the bean and cheese burrito!

After checking out other sites, this place seems to have some mixed reviews. We enjoyed it, though, and will most definitely be coming back! :D
